Housing Allowance Program

Need help with monthly rental costs? The Housing Allowance Program can provide monthly assistance to residents living in market rentals.  


What the program offers 

The Housing Allowance Program provides monthly assistance to eligible households living in market-rent housing units who cannot afford their shelter costs, such as rent, heat, hydro, and/or water. 

Who can apply 

You may qualify if: 

  • You are currently experiencing homelessness and are on the By-Name List, but have secured new housing 
  • Have an income below the annual income limit 
  • Have assets below the local asset limit of $50,000 
  • You are a renter
